So a friend of mine, Stephanie, is a big blogger (here’s the link to her blog …) so naturally she has TONS of blogging friends that she made online. One of them is Leigh-Ann of The Freckled Nest! She is my source for this fun little Vlog!

My Midwestern Dialect!

Say these words:
Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught
Now answer these questions:
What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball?
What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you say to address a group of people?
What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped body and extremely long legs?
What do you call your grandparents?
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?
What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
What is the thing you change the TV channel with?

In case you couldn’t understand my mumbley introduction…
I was just saying how I got this idea from Leigh-Ann (her blog here…) who is one of my friend’s best friend. Therefore she is my friend by default. :)
I also said that I like this idea because I am always teased here in California for my “silly Midwestern accent” which is in fact… VERY close to a Canadian Accent. Something tells me that Leigh-Ann and I will get along well when she comes to visit for Stephanie’s baby shower. :P I close out my introduction just saying that I think my family will enjoy this video because they know how matt teases my accent… and now it is in full video form to enjoy again and again… HA!

I return... with LOTS of news! :)

No longer out of commission! :)

NO I'm not having problems haha... I just think it is a very beautiful picture. I wish I knew the artist's name!

ANYWAY...

So the past few weeks have been extremely eventful. That is why I haven't been able to post until NOW! :P

A few weeks ago our friends Justin and Felicia came to visit from SoCal and Washington.

It was FABULOUS
Here is a slideshow of all our fun!

Then after the visit I got right down to turning in JOB APPLICATIONS...
I turned some in to little cafes and restaurants but alas... no luck there...
Then I turned one in to a little Veterinarian Clinic. Haven't heard back from them so I am guessing they don't need a receptionist. Then I turned one in to Panera Bread Company... and I found out that if I would have submitted it just a BIT sooner, I would have probably gotten a job there... The gal told me that they JUST hired someone... :(
HOWEVER!!!! The future is looking bright! I submitted an application online to Target and they were looking for help. I'll be calling them tomorrow to see if they've looked at my application and to get them to call me back for an interview! Hehe! Hopefully all works out, because I am going NUTS sitting in the apartment all day!

Then this past weekend was EASTER! We went to Matt's parents house to visit and stayed overnight. On Sunday we left early to attend the San Francisco Giants EASTER game! It was fabulous and I think I am in love with Brian Wilson! :P

Update: Couches and Friends!

We officially have a gorgeous dining set and a futon from heaven!
I will have a little video I made of me assembling the couch (time-lapse, of course) up within 24 hours!
I will also do a video tour of my apartment when everything is in its place!
I am so excited to show you the little snippets of excitement in my life!

SPEAKING OF EXCITEMENT!!!!!Next Monday, two friends of mine (and Matt's) are coming to the area to visit us!

This is Justin and Felicia! We met them on an online game (don't hate). They are the coolest cats ever. What is even cooler is that they found EACH OTHER! States apart, and they are goin' strong. AAAHHHHHH young love. :)

I absolutely cannot WAIT to meet them!
I'll be sure to take tons of pictures!

Meditations of Natalie Rose: Friendship

This is the first post in my series

Meditations of Natalie Rose.

This series is just me writing about the things I think about, and the things I have opinions about. Think of it as a journal entry. :)

Friendship

Friendships should never be a burden. They should never sit heavy on your shoulders and weigh you down. They should never make you worry or second guess yourself. Friendships should NEVER make you feel inadequate or not good enough. Friendships shouldn't be a job. Friendships shouldn't make you feel sad or paranoid.

Friendships are NOT a competition. Friendships are not to prove who the bigger and better person is. Friendships are accepting your friend for WHO THEY ARE and not critisizing them for WHAT THEY AREN'T. Being in a friendship doesn't mean fitting your friend into the perfect friend mold, nor fitting them into your "EX-FRIEND'S" mold.

FRIENDSHIP IS BEING HAPPY FOR WHAT YOUR FRIEND HAS RATHER THAN BEING JEALOUS OF THEM.

Friendship is being honest. This means:

1. Being direct and honest with your friend if they have a problem, but being supportive of them at the same time.
2. Giving heart-felt advice, but ultimately respecting your friend's decision whether or not it is the advice you gave.
3. NOT POSTING ANONYMOUS MESSAGES ON YOUR BLOG OR FACEBOOK INSULTING YOUR FRIEND AND THEN SENDING A SWEET MESSAGE TO THEM AND THINKING THAT IT CANCELS OUT YOUR MEAN POST.
4. Being direct and honest with your friend if you see a problem in the friendship, but being supportive of them.
5. LISTEN to what your friend has to say, EVEN IF YOU DON'T AGREE, and take it to heart.

I have fears that I will never find a friend that I will keep for life, and it wears and tears on my sore little soul.

I want to be friends with someone who isn't self absorbed. Someone who isn't jealous. Someone who respects me. I want to be friends with someone who I can goof around with and just be myself with, when at the same time I can have a serious heart-to-heart talk with without feeling like I am being judged or criticized.

I have yet to find such a friend and I hope that someday she (or he :P) will walk into my life, or perhaps I can walk into theirs!

I want to have a best friend, one like my mom has!

They have been friends since high-school. They could be apart for a hundred years and when they get back together they pick up right where they left off. I would LOVE to have a friendship like that.
